Rescue a Million believes that there is a hero within each of us. We started the Young Hero Awards to recognize the powerful impact that young people can have in the world when they awaken the heroes within them.

What is a Young Hero?
A young hero is an individual, age 5 to 18, who, through action in either the local or global community, has positively affected other children, the environment, or both.

Winners
There will be young heroes selected from the elementary school, middle school, and high school age groups. Winners will receive medals as well as special recognition on Rescue a Million's website.

Deadline
Nominations for Rescue a Million's 2009-2010 Young Hero Awards must be received by mail no later than April 15th, 2010.

How to Nominate a Young Hero:
It is easy to nominate a young hero. Begin by downloading the nomination form below and filling out the nominator and nominee information. Then respond to the question on the form regarding why the nominee should be selected to receive a Young Hero Award. Attach any supplemental documents* to your response and mail it with the completed nomination form to:
